An Unforgettable Evening of Jazz & Dining by the River 

Following a fabulous and successful evening on Friday 2nd May at The Wharf, we’re thrilled to announce the next unmissable event in our summer series!

Join us on Saturday, 21st June from 4:30pm for the Teddington Jazz Festival, right here at The Wharf Riverside Restaurant. Prepare to be swept away by internationally renowned jazz artists, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Thames. Performances by:

5.00 pm, Tracy Ray Trio

Drawing on repertoire from Nina Simone, Ruth Brown, Ray Charles, Jimmy Smith, Herbie Hancock and other jazz / blues greats they capture the soulful, groovy and danceable side of the blues to create a great party atmosphere at any event.

Tracy Ray is a regular on the London jazz scene and The Mojos - Dave Lagnado (double bass), Mike Watts (drums), Damian Hand (saxophone / flute) and Dave Baldwin (organ) have played with many major artists including Van Morrison, Georgie Fame, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Hunter, Jerry Dammers, Chris Farlowe, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck to name a few.

7.00pm, The Soul  Immigrants featuring Emrys Baird

Hailing from South London,The Soul Immigrants are fine purveyors of energetic Soul,Jazz Funk & beyond. A potent mix of funk, soul and jazz with distinctive British swagger. The Soul Immigrants know and respect Soul’s wonderful heritage and these skilful musicians have a penchant for a catchy, funky melody redolent of Al Jarreau with flashy guitar work and the rawest of alto sax.

9.00pm, The Cosimo Matassa Project

The Cosimo Matassa Project are a London band working to conjure up the unique rhythm ‘n’ blues flavours that emerged from New Orleans in the late 1940s and early 1950s. At the core of the band are pianist and arranger Al "Dente" Dunn (Loudon Wainwright / Richard Thompson) and singer/double bassist Dai Price (Dai & The Ramblers)  They’re often joined by top London session players with credits that include Allen Toussaint, Van Morrison and James Hunter. Over the last couple of years the band have become a staple on the R’n’B circuit, gigging around London clubs and bars such as Nightjar in Old Street, Brasserie Zedel in Mayfair and Ronnie Scott’s in Soho.

This is the first of many events we’ll be hosting throughout the summer, celebrating music, community, and exceptional food.
